Anyone want to help create a REAL Transhumanist forum?

there are plenty of transhumanist forums on the web....what do you think this site is? I'm not sure what a REAL transhumanist forum would look like but I would imagine it's one with a community...I don't mind you coming here to promote your own site but don't slander this one.

Indeed, I would like to see attempts at conversation regarding our H+ ideas before you go looking to make a new site. I have just recently began doing my own research into these topics and hope to get some interesting discussions going.

Sorry, this was no attempt to slander this social networking site. I see how the capitalized "REAL" would come off as slanderous, but this message was copy and pasted to several sites and wasn't calling this place fake.

Anyways, the new forum url is www.transhumanistforums.com for anyone interested.

Also, if I may ask: can you provide a link to some of these other forums you mentioned, Chris?

I haven't seen much except the ImmInst forums and Mind-X forums. Both are not specifically about Transhumanism.

thanks for clearing that up...i did feel a little defensive as I have done a lot of networking to promote this site...the other forums i was thinking of were indeed the imminst forums as well as a slew of others from tribes to facebook...this is not a competitive venture but an attempt to bring a community together.

Yeah, this place is great. I love all the features (groups, photos, videos, & blogs. However, the forum aspect is lacking a couple of traditional forum features - the biggest being subforums, polls, signatures, ect. It seems like one big forum without any real way to organize the threads.

Is there some way that ning can implement these features? That would be ideal.

I 100% agree - this is not about competition at all - I just want to help the Transhumanist community wherever it may be. :)

Also, why can you only edit messages after 15 minutes? Is that something you can toggle on and off?

Yeah...the forum layout and features on Ning sucks and as far as I know the 15 minutes is not editable...I hope this gets fixed and the forum resembles something like vbulletin...but I won't hold my breath.

Too bad it's hosted by H+ cafe... they banned me from there site. Sure I can make another name but F*** that why even bother... A one sided debate is not a debate ;)
