Greetings, Transhumanists:

The Federated Commonwealth of Valhalla (or "FedCom" for short) is a small, unrecognized state that simply desires to exercise the right to self-determination by way of autonomy. In today's world, that means we must create a new nation, and since the days of sailing to a distant shore and planting a flag are long gone, the only way to do that is by secession.

Among our main research and ideas are those involving the transition to the posthuman -that is, transhumanism. Although still in the planning stage, the Federated Commonwealth offers all transhumanists a change to begin the upgrade of themselves and humanity out of the legal and governmental control of any other nations, as well as to help lay the foundations of a nation that, when we gain independence, will become the first African world superpower, with more advanced technology than any other nation on this planet.

Edit: This nation is now known as the "Federated Commonwealth of Malatora".

Creating new nations is not illegal, it has been done throughout history. FedCom wishes to secede the way that Kosovo did recently, or Montenegro, or if you look quite a lot back further in history, the United States.

FedCom is also ideally suited for Transhumanists. Transhumanists advocate responsible eugenics and genetic engineering, as well as cybernetics. All of these things FedCom is quite supportive of, and wishes to research and put to use all of those technologies.

the idea is to make a new nation legal, not to be illegal

when the government is above the law, they deserve no propositions

it's time to take back our rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness

people get complacent after being beaten down for so long and loosing dopamine/neuroplasticity after 35

unfortunately that's usually about the time people begin to care about politics and science for personal reasons

And what would be the legal manner? The only precedent for something like this is when America gained it's Independence. They did it with a statement that announced that the way they were being governed was no longer of any benefit to them. So with the declaration of Independence they "Declared" themselves free from the neglect and tyranny of their oppressive and aloof government. If the land is not being governed (or governed poorly) It's people have an inalienable right to life libery and the pursuit of transhumanism.

Yes, we plan to gather together in an area of Africa that is very sparsely populated and is controlled by a corrupt government. We then plan to create our nation, and declare ourselves independent. Once we do this, we shall have a stronghold of transhumanist ideas, and a nation of liberty, equality, and solidarity...

I believe that the founder of the Federated Commonwealth made a good decision (no, it's not "my nation," although I'm a regional leader) in deciding to create FedCom.

FedCom seeks to create a human subspecies better adapted to living in space with the process of eugenics:
Homo sapiens stellaris, "Man of the Stars"

A specialized human subspecies that is ideally suited to life in space.

Favorable genetic traits
The following traits are to be encouraged in bloodlines following this evolutionary path:

* Compact but strong muscles
* Dexterous with feet
* Good flexibility
* Good vision
* Improved night vision
* Resistant to motion sickness
* Resistant to strong G-forces

Artificial genetic modifications
The following traits should be explored, and if found in nature, may be grafted into this genome:

* Limited-duration anaerobic metabolism
* Replace feet with a second set of hands
* Resistant to high levels of radiation
* Tougher and tighter skin, to resist decompression

Yes, we are currently designing various cybernetic organisms (cyborgs) to protect the human brain and to act as a more powerful body...

FedCom currently has a long-term plan for colonizing the solar system and building interplanetary spacecraft (much better than those flimsy things NASA and the ESA currently build). Our recent propulsion breakthrough for a new type of electric rocket has renewed interest in our entire space program.

(As a side note, our calendar uses the launch of Sputnik as its epoch. That alone should speak volumes about how important the space age is to our nation.)

It would be too hard to do this. To create something anew would be far easier than untangling the twisted a corrupt governments of already existing nations.

This project is truly brilliant and long overdue.

It's just getting off the ground (we'll say this looking back)

but the potential is unlimited.

Before we can actually put our plans into motion, we will need the people and we will need money/supplies.
We have the plans, the potential, we just need more people.

I'm confident that within the group, a successful marketing campaign will emerge
as well as continued and expanding debate regarding the temporary and ideal laws that are being aimed for

there are alot of rich and very pissed off Transhumanist Libertarians who would love to create a new nation worth living in!
