I was born in 1974, shortly after the vernal equinox, when science fiction author Philip K. Dick went insane. Those three events have no connection.
I attend science fiction conventions in southeast Michigan, help to run them, and have been a frequent panelist in recent years. I cofounded the Macomb/Oakland Fandom Organization, and served two terms on the board of directors of the Ann Arbor Science Fiction Association which runs ConFusion.
I am most prominently involved in the Penguicon science fiction and open source software convention. I'm a fan of Cory Doctorow and personally got him as a Guest of Honor for 2005, and fan of Christine Peterson and Charlie Stross who I got as Guests of Honor for 2007.
I am a transhumanist, speak Lojban, and own too many back issues of WIRED Magazine to count. I have one computer each of Windows, Mac and Ubuntu Linux, and prefer to read books on the screen of my handheld computer over paper.
I was a production artist for print and the web for eight years, but now I'm employed at a tech startup selling voice over internet and doing web design and administration.
My favorite podcasts are Escape Pod, Changesurfer Radio, and Polyamory Weekly.
On Yudkowsky's Future Shock Scale I rate a 3.
Look me up on Second Life with the handle Nemo Benmergui.
