I found your sense of Mystery very similar to my own. If there is a difference, I would extend my answer to include the simple satisfaction of not needing to resolve all mysteries.
As to your paper - I look forward to it publication. My own description goes something like - A post modern Aesthetic thrives on open possibilities, unlimited probing and unsparing, and contextual leadership. Simply put, a post modern aesthetic calls into question the very core of historical rationale that emphasize rules, universality, and impartiality over contingent ways of reasoning that emphasize relationships, particularity, and partiality. Placed in an most other ethical systems seek to transcend the individual. A post modern aesthetic delights in the play of unfixedness, incompleteness, and temporally. From this view, the spectacle of the open forum represents the true reality of our time. All other versions of reality that call for the unity, objectivity, or a wholeness of social bodies as presupposed in most ethical systems, are systems used for domination and repression.
I have written a paper on the post moden ascetic and it will be published soon by JET. Meanwhile, you may like to see :

There certainly is room for you in the Chicago Transhumanist Assoc. I've been so busy establishing the TSN and H+ campus groups that I haven't had much time to build up the local chapter. It is still at the "meet-up" stage of organization, but several of the discussions I've organized have been enjoyed by participants. After TransVision 2007 in Chicago July 23-26 I will be almost completely preoccupied with pursuing a career and an advanced degree (I'm still selecting the field).

Also, have you considered attending the TV07 conference and pre-conference IEET seminar in Chicago?
The prices are a little steep this year, in large part due to the big-name talent involved. If you can't afford the tickets, I could probably get you in as a volunteer (I've been serving as a volunteer). If you're interested, I can elaborate in an E-mail.
There will be group TV07 tours and activities the week before the event that will include volunteers and possibly a speaker or two. The prior weekend should be really interesting. We will also be meeting informally in Wicker Park the night after TV07 ends (Friday, 7/27).
Best,
Ben

About Me:
I'm a post modern Aesthetic named Oldude59. The problem with this acknowledgment is my thinking and ambitions have not quite got the message of my "oldness". I've started an online behavioral clinic and my rant is about how to improve long term happiness - For the World. My thing, I believe I can change the world - isn't that a hoot. The way I intend to change the world is to foster a wider and deeper appreciation for "hipness": The daring, flair and grace of Jay z; the political savvy of Cornell West; the creativity of Mos Def with the business and cultural daring of Richard Simmons. I've thought enough - being a philosopher of sorts - and trained hard with some of the sharpest minds ever on the planet - Cornel West and Michel Foucault to know the total absurdity of trying to change the world - but I do and I will. There it is showing my age again.
Most of what interest me arises out of the notion of possibilities. The possibility that our ancient themes of ethical behavior are being transformed as we humans wonder into the state of transhuman. The sport s that will arise out of new the strength concocted in the labs. The music that lightens our steps from the sensibilities newly discovered with ears sharpen in those same labs.
