Hi! I'm a mom of three little humans-- will get back to you in a decade on their ultimate launching into adulthood-- so far they are pretty aware of what it means to be Earth Citizens. They've defended Cryonics to Barbara Walters (ages 9, 7, 4) and the oldest tests 100% secular humanist on beliefnet ;)

So-- I'm a 300 mprize member, I donate and volunteer a lot...

I wrote the book "21st Century Kids" at www.21stCenturyKidsbook.com for transhumanist families--share them with nieces/nephews/g… Continue

Or, see you at a cryo-feast ;-)

Take care,
Shannon

Thanks for the add. I'm glad to see I'm not the only Transhumanist in Texas!

Thanks, yeah--200 plus years in the future I don't think we'll need freezers ;-) Might be more like a thousand though, I generally see myself as living in a dark ages, compared to what the future may become, and I hope to see it... May not, so I just try to do a lot of good now, so I'm proud of my life and contributions to help end inequality--and the way I raise my children ;-)

Just reading about 21st Century Kids really stirred my imagination. I think that suicide will be the new art form when folks don't get wrinkly or sick anymore, I know so many people who just couldn't live without the drama. I would say I'll see you in the freezer, but I don't think we'll be needing them in the climate controlled bubble cities! Cheers to forever ^_~

Alcor United is a forum that cryonicists check from time to time, but we also have many cryonicists (well known/public/infuential and not) that participate daily over at http://www.imminst.org Sometimes you can feel like on one else agrees with you, or thinks you are sane--it can be insightful to find their are others interacting daily. :-) Plus at ImmIst people talk about the healthiest ways of living, psychologically, through nutrition, exercise--etc. If you come, please introduce yourself! Take care--Shannon

I've been working with Rudi since initiating my process late last year.

He gave me the bad news.

I have since had to change the beneficiary on my policy at work (portable) to CI, on his suggestions, and joined this week.

I just need to fill out some paperwork and send it back.

Rudi said he will see if another carrier may be more supportive of my needs.

I understand Ben Best and Andy Zawacky are two of the most conscientious people in the field.

Thanks, and keep in touch.

Shannon:

AIG, the insurance carrier which would have funded my suspension with Alcor, turned me down, because of a hospital visit last month.

I checked myself in from the stress I was having in grieving over my mom's passing.

I had to check my insurance at work. It;s portable, and it would cover what CI offers.

So I am waiting for new contracts from CI to arrive by Saturday for my signature.

I was looking forward to working with Alcor, and, if circumstance allow for it, I may return to Alcor, but AIG forced my hand.

I will say this: Andy Zawacki and Ben Best are among the most ethical people in this field.

I hope I haven't gone wrong.

Thanks for understanding.

Well, I look for interesting people to add :-).

When I started CR I was a lot more severe than I am now, I stay at a healthy weight now--and eat moderate CR. There is a new book coming out 'Living the CR Way' that will present an easier way to do CR, I'm excited for it.

I'm always up for discussions of cryonics ;-), :-).

Hello friend ! -> Just out of curiosity. What made you add me as a friend ? And how's that calorie restriction working for you, because I've played with the thought but it seems pretty rough to me. yours, JJ
