Profile Information

Location:
Greenville, Texas, USA
About Me:
My name is John Russell Tidwell. I am a Spinoza-style atheist, a vegetarian, an Esperantist (Sed mi ankoraux lernas la lingvon.), and an Abolitionist Transhumanist. The Hedonistic Imperative is my Bible.
Areas of interest:
Abolitionism, absurdism, aesthetics, anime, atheism, body enhancement, Buddhist philosophy, cypergoth fashion, determinism (I adhere to a sort of modified determinism.), Discordianism, Einstein, Esperanto, ethics, hedonism, intentional communities, naturalistic pantheism, philosophy, polyamory, psychology, sci-fi, Secular Humanism, secular spirituality, secularism in general, Singularitarianism (Though my views on the singularity differ a bit from those of most Singularitarians.), sociology, veganism, vegetarianism, writing, yoism, and a lot more. I'm also interested in eventually starting a series of Abolitionist Transhumanist communes, starting with locations in Austin or San Antonio, Texas; Oregon; the Netherlands; and maybe somewhere in Canada, Japan, or South Korea.
Area(s) of expertise/knowledge:
I consider myself an expert on atheistic philosophy, ethics, hedonistic philosophy, and secular spirituality, but I'm still in high school, so my education is not sufficient for me to have any expertise in a scientific field. However, I intend to major in Sociology, so hopefully I'll eventually be able to add that to my resume. Despite my age, I'm also a fairly skilled writer, if anyone needs someone to collaborate on a blog, write a guest column, or anything of that nature, as long as it has to do with philosophy or opinion, rather than technology. (I can philosophize with the best of them, but my knowledge of technology is sadly limited.)
Associations/Affiliations:
Atheistnexus.org; I'm not yet affiliated with any organizations, but I hope to join some eventually.
Volunteering / Financial Contributions:
None yet.
