I'm currently a second year Digital Media degree Student, based at the Broadstairs Campus of Canterbury Christchurch University, and also a cleaner, which is as much fun as it sounds.
I'm currently preparing myself for a music/film project to start sometime in September/October 2007 which will be a conceptual piece seperated into chapters, on the subjects so far of physical and machine evolution, convergence, changes in societies, the importance of virtual worlds, identity, technosupremacy, and other things as I learn about them.
I'm in no way attempting to create any sort of manifesto with this, I simply want it to be a piece that deals with the development of ideas on these subjects making parallels to the current state of society.
The music will be mainly constructed from editing together footage of home-made instruments, environments, spoken word, as I want to touch on the idea of how language in its current form perhaps nears obsoletion after the singularity. The home-made instruments I will attempt to make from converging different implements I either find or just plain steal.
I guess if you want a comparison, then it's going to draw inspiration from things like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Moe!kestra, Serial Experiments Lain, Tetsuo (obviously), Ghost in the Shell.
Apart from that, I dabble a bit with music with my Krikkit Robotics project (name being based on the robots in HHGTTG, so don't take it too seriously). I enjoy football, reading, tea, and baiting Jehovah's Witnesses, explaining how every biblical passage relates to Techno-Utopianism.
